Au Coin de la Rue

Au Coin de la Rue

Ossau-Iraty and its typical condiment: black cherry jam.

Au Coin de la Rue is one of our favorite restaurants in Levallois. It’s run by a French chef and his Cambodian wife. The dishes are essentially French, but with an occasional twist in ingredients: a little piment d’Espelette, some citrus, an interesting sauce. The dessert menu always has a very decent Ossau-Iraty accompanied with a black cherry jam.

This past trip, our starter was cheese-related as well: a fried camembert with a small lightly-dressed salad. It was good cheese, and it was cooked perfectly, which is hard to do. That said, I think I’ve decided that it’s not my thing. The crisp texture takes away from the cheese.

Fried camembert, before.

Fried camembert, after.
