La Fête du Fromage in Normandy
During our recent trip to Normandy, I was able to attend my third cheese show of the year, the Fête du Fromage in Pont L'Évêque. (The first and second were Cheese Day and the Salon du Fromage, respectively.)
Pont L'Évêque the cheese is named for the town from whence it comes, It's one of four cheeses with a protected designation of origin (PDO), meaning that they must be made in certain ways and in certain places. The other three are Camembert, Neufchâtel, and Livarot.
We walked out with a haul of cheese as you’ll see below and some fascinating charcuterie from bull meat. And, naturally, a few bottles of wine.
