Day 18: Old Amsterdam

It’s my second day in Amsterdam and time to eat some actual Dutch cheese. The Dutch are especially known for Gouda, and if you wander around the cheese shops in Amsterdam, you’ll find loads. I tend to avoid the flavored versions in their shocking colors and stick to the more natural stuff. Today’s cheese was not so natural though. Old Amsterdam is an industrial cheese made by a huge industrial dairy producer. It’s pasteurized and contains a preservative. I think I’ll just stop there.
